Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Szeroko rozprzestrzeniony gatunek, o areale sięgającym od Wysp Brytyjskich i skrajnych północnych prowincji Fennoskandii przez całą środkową część Europy aż do krajów śródziemnomorskich, na wschód docierający do zachodniej części Azji; notowany również z Ameryki Północnej i Południowej. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, brak jednak jeszcze udokumentowanych danych z wielu krain. Znajdowany w nawozie, pod ekskrementami, rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi oraz na padlinie.
