Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem głównie obszary pagórkowate i górzyste w północnej, zachodniej i środkowej części Europy, na południe docierający do Włoch północnych, a na północ w Fennoskandii do około 64° szerokości geograficznej. W Polsce znany z pojedynczych stanowisk, tylko na Śląsku liczniej poławiany. Występuje w strumieniach i potokach górskich z zimną, szybko płynącą wodą, na terenach nizinnych spotykany jest w strumieniach leśnych.
