Taxon description
Prószyński et Staręga 1971:
Gatunek europejski, zamieszkujący łąki nad brzegami wód.
«Oedothorax gibbosus» jest prawdopodobnie tylko formą zmienności indywidualnej samców gatunku znanego szerzej jako Oedothorax tuberosus (Bl.). Ponieważ jednak nazwa «gibbosus» została użyta wcześniej (Blackwall 1841, p. 653) i gatunek nią oznaczony jest gatunkiem typowym rodzaju Oedothorax Bertk., używamy jej jako obowiązującej, uznając Neriene tuberosa Blackwall, 1841 (p. 654) za młodszy synonim. Na to, że obie nazwy dotyczą raczej jednego niż dwu gatunków, zwrócili uwagę Simon (1926), Locket i Millidge (1953) i Wiehl (1960a).
