Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Szeroko rozmieszczony gatunek palearktyczny, znany niemal ze wszystkich krajów europejskich, na północy przekraczający daleko koło podbiegunowe. W Polsce prócz wyższych partii górskich prawdopodobnie występuje na całym obszarze, nie wykazywany jednak zupełnie z niektórych krain. Zamieszkuje pola, łąki, pobrzeża lasów zarówno na obszarach nizinnych, jak i górskich, docierając do strefy alpejskiej. Spotykany pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, w kompoście, nawozie, pod ekskrementami i na padlinie.
