Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w Pirenejach, Alpach i górach Półwyspu Bałkańskiego. Występowanie w Polsce, z uwagi na ogólne rozmieszczenie, nieprawdopodobne. Zamęt nomenklatoryczny panujący w tej grupie chrząszczy i liczne pomyłki w oznaczaniu spowodowały wykazywanie z Polski wielu gatunków z rodzaju Oreina, które w świetle współczesnych badań w Polsce nie występują. Prawdopodobnie zaszła pomyłka w oznaczaniu tęczowych form O. (O.) alpestris (Schumm.). Wymagania środowiskowe i bionomia tego gatunku nie są znane.
