Taxon description
Pospolity gatunek rozmieszczony od Wysp Brytyjskich i skrajnych prowincji północnych Fennoskandii przez pozostały kontynent europejski aż do północnej Afryki, notowany również z Kaukazu i Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce dość licznie spotykany na niżu, rzadziej w górskich terenach, w Tatrach sięga do regla górnego. Postacie dojrzałe najczęściej znajdowane na kwitnących krzewach i roślinach zielnych, zaś larwy w zmurszałym, wilgotnym drewnie i wśród rozkładających się szczątków roślinnych.
