Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Pospolity, szeroko rozprzestrzeniony gatunek w całej Europie, na wschód sięga do Syberii, Mongolii i Zakaukazia; w Fennoskandii sięga skrajnych obszarów poza kołem podbiegunowym. W Polsce występuje zarówno na niżu jak i w górach, gdzie dochodzi do piętra kosodrzewiny. Żyje głównie w wodach płynących, spotykany również w zarośniętych roślinnością zbiornikach stojących z czystą wodą.
