Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej, środkowej i południowo-wschodniej Europie, notowany również z Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii i jednej południowej prowincji Szwecji. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany. Znajdowany w murszejącym drewnie buków, w czerwonobrunatno butwiejących dębach, zwłaszcza zasiedlonych przez mrówki Lasius brunneus (Latr.).
