Taxon description
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem tereny górzyste we Francji, Szwajcarii, południowej Bawarii, Austrii, północnych Włoszech, Chorwacji, oraz Sudety i Karpaty. W Polsce chrząszcz ten jest nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, znany tylko z czterech krain południowych, przy czym dane o występowaniu na Roztoczu wymagają, z uwagi na wymagania środowiskowe, potwierdzenia nowymi badaniami. Zasiedla głównie strefę subalpejską, gdzie występuje w lasach iglastych. Jest spotykany w czerwcu i lipcu.
Gatunek podany przez Tenenbauma (1918, 1923) z Roztocza, z Nartu. Okaz dowodowy znajdujący się w zbiorach IZ okazał się samicą Cantharis figurata Men., okaz z Babiej Góry (Pawłowski 1967) — samicy Absidia schoenherri (Dej.) (coll. ISEZ). Seria samic z Turnicy pod Przemyślem podana pod tą nazwą przez Trellę (1938) należy do Absidia rufotestacea letzn. Pozostają jedynie niemożliwe do sprawdzenia informacje o występowaniu tego gatunku w Karkonoszach (Letzner 1871, 1889, Dietrich 1906, Gerhardt 1910, Horion 1953). Według Horiona (1953), gatunek ten wyginął w Karkonoszach, znany jest tylko jeden okaz złowiony w ubiegłym wieku, jednak przeze mnie nie sprawdzony. Znany z Czarnohory, leg. S. Stobiecki, 7 VII 1923, o którym w notatkach Stobieckiego czytamy: "zebrany pod szczytem Turkuła w stronę Szpyci koło jeziora, sitem wysiane z korzeni kępiastych traw Aira w suchym miejscu od strony jeziora". W kolekcji G. Polentza (MPUW) znajdują się trzy okazy zebrane na Pradziadzie w Jesionikach, blisko Gór Opawskich. Możliwe jest, że gatunek ten zostanie potwierdzony z Polski.
