Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Gatunek dość rzadko występujący w lasach dębowych i mieszanych, w których rosną dęby, lata w V i VI. Gąsienice, żerujące na dębach, żyją pomiędzy spojonymi przędzą liśćmi. Dorosłe gąsienice zdradzają objawy kanibalizmu zjadając również inne gąsienice. Przepoczwarczają się w oprzędach między liśćmi dębów i zimują jako poczwarki. Gąsienice po ostatnich linieniach mają cztery ciemnozielone linie wzdłuż ciała, wyraźne na bokach, przerywane na stronie grzbietowej. Przed linieniami i przepoczwarczeniem prążki te stają się słabo widoczne.
