Taxon description
Obszar rozsiedlenia tego gatunku nie jest ostatecznie wyjaśniony. Według A. Horiona (1953) gatunek ten zamieszkuje głównie południową, część Europy, docierając na północ do środkowej Francji, Bawarii, Sudetów i ich przedgórzy oraz Ukrainy (najdalej na północ wysuniętymi, znanymi stanowiskami miały być Mohylew i Jarosławl w ZSRR). G. Dahlgren (1979) uważa natomiast, że Rh. femoralis (Gyll.) jest gatunkiem greckim, nie występującym w Europie Środkowej, wobec czego należy przypuszczać, że dotychczasowe dane o występowaniu w Polsce odnoszą się prawdopodobnie do innych gatunków.
Informacja o występowaniu tego gatunku na Babiej Górze (Roubal 1936) z pewnością błędna i dotyczy Rhagonycha nigripes (Redt.), który był uważany za odmianę nie istniejącego gatunku Rhagonycha femoralis (Gyll.).
Gatunek wschodnioeuropejski, niżowy, wykazany z kilku stanowisk w Szwajcarii (Allenspach, Wittmer 1979), z Finlandii, Karelii i krajów nadbałtyckich (Lundberg 1986). Dahlgren (1968) podaje stanowiska z Czech, Słowacji, Austrii i Włoch. Nowe dane: Litwa, Wilno, ST (IZ); Białoruś, okolice Mińska, leg. W. Nazarów.
