Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek rozmieszczony od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowej części Fennoskandii przez całą środkową część Europy aż do środkowej Francji, północno-zachodnich Włoch, Banatu i Siedmiogrodu. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadki, wykazany tylko z czterech krain, od przeszło 40 lat nie notowany. Zamieszkuje tereny nizinne i pagórkowate oraz górskie doliny rzeczne w niższych położeniach. Występuje przeważnie na piaszczystych, słabo porośniętych pobrzeżach rzek, strumieni, kałuż, niekiedy w miejscach wilgotnych, w dołach po wybranym piasku i żwirze.
