Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1974:

Gatunek znany głównie z południowej Europy, dość rzadko notowany z południowo-wschodniej części Europy Środkowej, wykazywany nadto z Azji Mniejszej i Kaukazu. W Polsce jest chrząszczem nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykanym od przeszło 60 lat nie poławianym. W zbiorach krajowych znajdują się tylko dwa okazy złowione we Wrocławiu i jeden okaz z etykietką Kraków Dębniki. Prawdopodobnie omyłkowo wykazany z Niziny Mazowieckiej, gdyż według J. Makólskiego (Burakowski 1957b) z zbiorze L. Hildta nie było omawianego gatunku. Dane sprzed przeszło 100 laty o występowaniu na Śląsku Górnym oraz dane H. Lgockiego o znalezieniu w okolicy Częstochowy wymagają potwierdzenia. Warunki ekologiczne słabo poznane; wykazywany głównie z miejsc błotnistych w dolinach rzecznych, znajdowany w napływkach popowodziowych.
