Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony w całej Holarktyce.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje na młodych pędach wierzb — Salix americana L., Salix caprea L., Salix cinerea L., Salix daphnoides Vill., Salix fragilis L,, Salix Jacquini Host, Salix purpurea L., Salix viminalis L. Ma skrócony cykl rozwojowy: pokolenie różnopłciowe pojawia się już w połowie lata.
