Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie południową i zachodnią część Europy, na wschód docierający do Azji Mniejszej i okolic Morza Kaspijskiego; w Europie Środkowej rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany. W Polsce dotychczas z całą pewnością jeszcze nie stwierdzony, ale istnieje możliwość odkrycia go w górzystych rejonach w południowej części kraju. Ogólnikowo podany z Polski na podstawie znalezisk w Galicji Wschodniej, obecnie będących poza granicami naszego kraju. Omyłkowo wykazany z Pomorza (Stebnicka 1976) na podstawie danych odnoszących się do niewiarygodnego stanowiska w byłych Prusach Wschodnich, obecnie na terenie RFSRR. Również inne doniesienia o występowaniu w Prusach są z uwagi na rozmieszczenie ogólne niewiarygodne. Spotykany wiosną w ekskrementach dzikich zwierząt, zwłaszcza jeleni, rzadziej krów.
