Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w Afryce Północnej, południowej i środkowej części Europy, docierający na wschód do Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej, Zakaukazia, Turkiestanu i Afganistanu północnego. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje najczęściej na suchych i nasłonecznionych stanowiskach w ekskrementach bydła. Pojawia się od czerwca do sierpnia; obserwowano przyloty do światła.
