Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w prawie całej Palearktyce, w Europie od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych obszarów Fennoskandii aż po kraje śródziemnomorskie. W Polsce występuje na terenach nizinnych i górzystych, prócz wyższych partii górskich. Postacie dojrzałe żerują na liściach i pędach końcowych ślazu dzikiego — Malva silvestris L., ślazu drobnokwiatowego — M. pusilla Sm. et Sow. i prawoślazu lekarskiego — Althaea officinalis L. Larwy drążą w lecie chodniki we wszystkich częściach rośliny, docierając nawet do cienkich szypułek kwiatowych. Przeobrażenie następuje w sierpniu-wrześniu.
