Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Pospolity, szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek holarktyczny, w Europie występujący od krajów śródziemnomorskich aż do Grenlandii, Islandii i północnej części Fennoskandii. W Polsce rozsiedlony od Bałtyku aż po Tatry. Jeden z najczęściej znajdowanych gatunków z rodzaju Atheta Thoms. Poławiany w grzybach, ściółce (zwłaszcza liściastej), spróchniałym drewnie, wśród mchów i gnijących resztek roślinnych.
