Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek występujący w środkowej i południowej części Europy; notowany ponadto z Algierii i Tunezji. W Polsce drążyn zielony jest notowany głównie ze stanowisk nizinnych i wyżynnych w zachodniej i południowej części kraju. Zasiedla pola uprawne, ogrody i miejsca ruderalne. Żyje na kapuście warzywnej — Brassica oleracea L., kapuście polnej — B. campestris L., kapuście rzepaku — B. napus L. i dwurzędzie wąskolistnym — Diplotaxis tenuifolia (Juslen) Dc. Larwa żeruje w dolnej części łodygi i w szyi korzeniowej. Drążyn zielony może niekiedy wyrządzać duże szkody w uprawach kapusty i innych roślin krzyżowych — Cruciferae.
