Gatunek rozsiedlony od Moraw i Austrii Dolnej przez Rumunię, Podole i Wołyń aż po zachodni Kazachstan. Wykazany ogólnikowo z Polski w 1913 r. na podstawie znalezisk z Podola i Wołynia (M. Mroczkowski i J. Stefańska 1992). Występuje na polach uprawnych, łąkach, przydrożach i ciepłych zboczach. Jako rośliny żywicielskie są podawane: świrzepa trwała — Rapistrum perenne (L.) All. i rukiewnik wschodni — Bunias orientalis L.
