Burakowski et al. 1973:
Gatunek holarktyczny, znany ze środkowej i północnej Europy, Syberii oraz Ameryki Północnej; w Skandynawii sięga daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, w Polsce częściej znajdowany na północy kraju. Żyje nad brzegami stojących lub wolno płynących wód.
