Taxon description

Szelegiewicz 1968:

Ponadto podawany z wielu miejscowości w piśmiennictwie zoocecydiologicznym, lecz dane te są bezwartościowe, gdyż podobne wyrośla na głogu powoduje u nas 6 gatunków z tego rodzaju. W zasadzie wszystkie dane sprzed r. 1950 wymagają rewizji. Europa, Azja Środkowa, Bliski Wschód, Ameryka Północna.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z głogu — Crataegus oxyacantha L. i Crataegus monogyna Jacq. na różne rośliny baldaszkowe, głównie marchew. U nas znaleziony na Daucus carota L., Anethum graveolens L., Apium graveolens L. i Petroselinum sativum Hoffm. Na głogu powoduje powstawanie na blaszce liściowej czerwono zabarwionych wybrzuszeń. Na wtórnych roślinach żywicielskich mszyce te żerują głównie u nasady łodygi oraz na szyjce korzeniowej i odwiedzane są zawsze przez mrówki.
