Taxon description

Szelegiewicz 1968:

Szeroko rozmieszczony w Europie; podawany także z Azji, lecz dane te odnoszą się do innego gatunku.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z wiązów — Ulmus campestris L. i Ulmus scabra Mill, na korzenie starca. Na wiązach powoduje powstawanie bardzo charakterystycznych deformacji. U nas nie był do niedawna odróżniany od gatunku następnego.
