Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Wysp Brytyjskich, i od około 64° szerokości geograficznej w Skandynawii aż do Węgier i Siedmiogrodu, na zachód sięgający do Nadrenii. Z Polski znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk, przy tym dane ze Śląska Dolnego i Górnego oparte na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu laty wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Spotykany przeważnie w gniazdach mrówek Formica rufa L., Lasius brunneus (Latr.) i Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.).
