Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek zamieszkujący prócz skrajnych, części północnych całą, Europę, notowany również z północnej Afryki, zachodniej i środkowej Azji. W Polsce dość pospolity na niżu, w górach rzadziej spotykany, w Karpatach sięga ponad górną granicę lasu. Występuje głównie w wodach stojących, nie zakwaszonych, z roślinnością błotną lub wodną, niekiedy spotykany w wodach wolno płynących.
