Burakowski et al. 1980:

Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie północną i środkową Europę, docierający do Francji, środkowych Włoch i Siedmiogrodu. Uważany za gatunek borealno-górski, wszędzie, również w Polsce znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje w hubach i przegrzybiałych gałęziach i pniach leżących na ziemi, a porażonych przez różne gatunki grzybów z rodzaju żagiew — Polyporus (Mich.) Fr. i hubiak — Fomes (Fr.) Fr.
