Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Obszar rozsiedlenia tego gatunku obejmuje południową i środkową, część Europy, Szwecję południową, Afrykę Północną, Azję Mniejszą, Mezopotamię, Zakaukazie, Syrię, Iran i Afganistan. W Polsce, prócz wyższych partii górskich, prawdopodobnie występuje na całym obszarze. Zamieszkuje otwarte tereny piaszczyste i wapienne o charakterze kserotermicznym, nasłonecznione pobrzeża lasów i polany leśne. Postacie dorosłe po przezimowaniu ukazują się od kwietnia do lipca i występują w przesuszonych ekskrementach krów i koni. Nowe pokolenie pojawia się na jesieni.
