Rzadki gatunek, znany z prawie całej Europy (bez Półwyspu Iberyjskiego).
Wymagania środowiskowe niezbyt dobrze zbadane.

Prószyński et Staręga 1971:
Gatunek znany z całej Europy oraz z Azji Środkowej. Żyje w ściółce lasów liściastych. Dane Petrusewicza należy uznać za wątpliwe ‒ w Tatrach nikt tego pająka dotychczas nie znalazł.
