Taxon description
Szelegiewicz 1968:
Szeroko rozmieszczony w Palearktyce.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z topoli czarnej — Populus nigra L. i topoli włoskiej — Populus italica Mnch. na korzenie roślin złożonych — Lactuca sativa L., rzadziej innych — Daucus carota L., Brassica oleracea L. Na topoli powoduje powstawanie workowatych lub gruszkowatych wyrośli na ogonkach liściowych lub wyjątkowo u nasady liścia względnie na młodych pędach. Notowany jako szkodnik sałaty.
