Szelegiewicz 1968:

Prawdopodobnie szeroko rozmieszczony w całej Europie, ale do niedawna nie odróżniany od gatunku następnego.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z topoli czarnej — Populus nigra L. i topoli włoskiej — Populus italica Mnch. na korzenie marchwi — Daucus carota L. Na topolach powoduje powstawanie wyrośli podobnych do wyrośli wywoływanych przez Pemphigus populinigrae (Schrk.).
