Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Francji i północnych Włoch poprzez środkową część Europy po Syberię i Turkmenię. W Polsce wykazany z większości krain, jednak wiele z tych danych wymaga potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Ryjkowiec kserotermofilny, zamieszkujący piaszczyste wapienne i gipsowe gleby suchych muraw na słonecznych zboczach. Żyje wyłącznie na czyśćcu prostym — Stachys recta L. Biologia i cykl rozwojowy tego gatunku nie są znane. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano w maju-sierpniu.
