Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1997:

Gatunek zamieszkujący zachodnią i środkową część Europy; notowany ponadto z północnych Włoch i południowej prowincji Skanii w Szwecji. Ryjkowiec ten występuje w Polsce prawdopodobnie na obszarze całego kraju z wyjątkiem wyższych partii górskich, nie jest jednak jeszcze znany z siedmiu krain. Zasiedla bagna, pobrzeża wód, mokre łąki i pola, rowy i miejsca ruderalne. Żyje na czyśćcu błotnym — Stachys palustris L. Larwy odbywają rozwój w korzeniach.
