Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1987:

Gatunek kosmopolityczny, w Europie szeroko rozprzestrzeniony jako synantrop. Przypuszcza się, że pierwotną ojczyzną tego gatunku jest Azja Południowa. W Polsce stosunkowo rzadko notowany, przeważnie z pojedynczych stanowisk w poszczególnych krainach. Występuje w ciepłych pomieszczeniach na starym chlebie, mące i innych przetworach zbożowych, w towarach kolonialnych, suchych owocach, a nawet znajdowano go w zbiorach entomologicznych.
