Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1974:

Gatunek rozmieszczony od południowych części Szwecji i Finlandii, przez całą Europę Środkową aż do Europy południowej, na wschód sięga do Kaukazu i zachodniej Syberii. Zasiedla szlamiste i gliniaste pobrzeża małych zbiorników wodnych, na przakład stawów, bajorek, rowów odwadniających. Spotykany najczęściej w miejscach ocienionych drzewami lub krzewami, gdzie prowadzi skryty sposób życia pod butwiejącymi liśćmi przy linii wodnej.
