Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek palearktyczny, szeroko rozpowszechniony w całej Europie aż do skrajnych północnych prowincji Fennoskandii. W Polsce znany tylko z krain południowych oraz Niziny Mazowieckiej, niewątpliwie jednak szerzej rozprzestrzeniony. Według K. Letznera (1880) dane o rozmieszczeniu omawianego gatunku na Śląsku winny być odniesione do Amischa analis (Gray.) v. contempta Heer, co nie miało chyba uzasadnienia, gdyż później (1886) ten sam autor podaje kilka miejscowości na Śląsku, gdzie poławiano Amischa cavifrons (Sharp). Poławiany w miejscach wilgotnych nad wodami płynącymi, przeważnie pod napływkami.
