Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Bardzo pospolity i wszędzie spotykany gatunek. Motyl pojawia się od końca VII do końca X. Gąsienice, które znaleźć można niekiedy po kilka razem, żerują od V do VII na wielu roślinach zielnych, jak przytulią, szczaw, bylica, a także na wierzbie, dębie i innych. W czasie poszukiwania właściwego pokarmu przejściowo zjada również liście traw. Poczwarki przebywają w oprzędach na ziemi lub płytko w ziemi. Zimują jaja, składane kupkami po kilkadziesiąt i więcej.
