Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w środkowej części Europy, wykazywany ponadto z południowych części Anglii i Szwecji, z Danii, Francji, północnych Włoch i Krainy. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w siedmiu krainach. Cykl rozwojowy trwa co najmniej dwa lata. Larwy żerują w czerwono butwiejącym drewnie starych dębów. Dorosłe larwy po dwukrotnym przezimowaniu przepoczwarczają się wiosną, sporządzając uprzednio kokon z mączki drzewnej i swoich ekskrementów; komory poczwarkowe budowane w spoistym drewnie są pozbawione kokonu. Postacie dojrzałe występują w czerwcu i lipcu.
