Taxon description
Obszar rozsiedlenia gatunku obejmuje południową i środkową część Europy, Afrykę Północną, Kaukaz, Azję Mniejszą, Iran i Turkiestan. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w zachodniej części kraju. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i pagórkowatych. Larwy zasiedlają przede wszystkim wiązy, są notowane poza tym z dębu, jaworu, olszy, jesionu, śliwy, osiki, grochodrzewu i kruszyny. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od maja do lipca na sągach drzewa, żerdziach i wiązkach chrustu, rzadziej na kwiatach roślin w pobliżu drzew żywicielskich.
