Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej, środkowej i południowej części Europy, znany również z Zakaukazia. W Polsce znany tylko z jednego stanowiska na Nizinie Wielkopolsko-Kujawskiej, dane te jednak winny być potwierdzone nowymi materiałami. Ogólnikowe doniesienia L. F. Hildta (1896) i M. Łomnickiego (1913) o występowaniu w Polsce kwestionuje L. Hildt (1916). Również A. Horion (1958) wątpi o występowaniu omawianego gatunku na Pomorzu, Śląsku i w Prusach, prostując w ten sposób wcześniejsze (1951) ogólnikowe doniesienie odnośnie tych obszarów. Znajdowany wczesną wiosną i późną jesienią w ekskrementach różnych zwierząt, wśród rozkładających się szczątków roślinnych, w kompoście i na padlinie.
