Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1983:

Gatunek rozmieszczony w Afryce Północnej i prawie w całej Europie (z wyjątkiem skrajnych części północnych Fennoskandii), poza tym wykazywany z Kaukazu, Zakaukazia i północno-zachodniej części Azji. W Polsce gatunek pospolity, występujący nieraz razem z A. prodromus (Brahm), zarówno na niżu jak i w górach. Zasiedla różnego rodzaju ekskrementy, zwłaszcza bydła i koni, niekiedy także jest spotykany wśród rozkładających się szczątków roślinnych.
