Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl pospolicie występujący w lasach dębowych i mieszanych od poł. V do poł. VII. Gąsienica żeruje od VII do IX na dębach, bukach, grabach, leszczynach i niektórych innych drzewach liściastych, siedząc na spodniej stronie liści. Na zimę buduje mały, brązowy, jajowatokulisty oprzęd pomiędzy gałązkami drzew lub liści i niekiedy wraz z liśćmi opada na ziemię. W oprzędzie zimuje gąsienica, rzadziej poczwarka.
