Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1995:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w prawie całej Europie; notowany nadto z Kaukazu, Anatolii, Jordanii, Algierii i Maroka. W Polsce dość często spotykany na niżu i wyżynach, w górach do 600-700 m n.p.m. Bionomia tego ryjkowca jest poznana fragmentarycznie. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano od maja do lipca na różnych gatunkach dębów. Rozwój larwalny stwierdzono w wyroślach na liściach dębu szypułkowego — Quercus robur L. Kuliste wyrośla były spowodowane żerowaniem larw błonkówki Dryophanta folii L. (Cynipidae). Larwy żerują w parenchymie wyrośli.
