Gatunek mało znany, gdyż do niedawna traktowany jako synonim pospolitego holarktycznego gatunku Atheta (Mocyta) fungi (Grav.); notowany z Fennoskandii, Danii, Niemiec, północnej Szwajcarii, Austrii i Czech. Z Polski wykazany na podstawie jednego okazu znalezionego 3 VII 1988 we Wrocławiu. Biologia i wymagania ekologiczne nie są znane.
