Taxon description
Gatunek znany ze środkowej i północnej części Europy, w Fennoskandii docierający do koła podbiegunowego. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, znany tylko z dwu stanowisk. Poławiany w gniazdach ptaków, pod ptasimi ekskrementami, rzadziej pod opadłymi liśćmi i w pryzmach kompostowych.
