Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 2000:
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony od Afryki Północnej i Europy Południowej przez Syberię aż po Chiny i Japonię. Jest on bardzo podobny w budowie zewnętrznej do pokrewnego Berosus (Enoplurus) spinosus Steven, stąd prawdopodobnie w Europie Środkowej notowany tylko ze wschodniej Francji, Niemiec i Austrii (Lucht 1987). Z braku udokumentowanych danych nie był zaliczany do chrząszczy fauny Polski. Stosunkowo niedawno wykazany u nas z pojedynczych stanowisk w czterech krainach na podstawie złowionych 9 osobników, w tym 4 samców metodą «na światło». Pogląd wyrażany w piśmiennictwie, jakoby omawiany gatunek był związany ze słonawiskami, w świetle danych z naszego obszaru, budzi wątpliwości.
