Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990a:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej części środkowej Europy, Europie Południowej, Afryce Północnej, Azji Mniejszej, na Bliskim Wschodzie i w Indiach. W Polsce jest notowany tylko z sześciu krain, ale prawdopodobnie we właściwych sobie siedliskach występuje również na innych obszarach. Rozwój larwalny odbywa w nasionach soczewicy jadalnej — Lens esculenta Mnch., przyczyniając się niekiedy do znacznego obniżania plonów tej rośliny uprawnej.
