Taxon description
Gatunek mało znany, gdyż dotychczas mylony z podobnym Carpelimus nitidus (Baudi); opisany ze Szwecji i notowany z tego kraju w kilkunastu południowych prowincjach, następnie wykazywany z Finlandii, Estonii, Danii, krajów Beneluksu i Niemiec. W Polsce wykazany stosunkowo niedawno z dwu krain. Występuje na błotnistych i szlamistych pobrzeżach wód i wilgotnych łąkach, poławiany pod gnijącymi szczątkami roślinnymi, w detrytusie i wśród mchów Sphagnum Ehrh.
