Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozmieszczony w strefie tropikalnej i subtropikalnej, zawleczony z towarami do Europy Południowej i Środkowej oraz do niektórych miast w Europie Północnej. W Polsce notowany dotychczas tylko z czterech stanowisk. Spotykany w magazynach i spichrzach wśród importowanego zboża, owoców, orzechów i ziarna kakaowego, ale z uwagi na wysokie wymagania termiczne nigdzie w Europie nie zaaklimatyzował się na stałe.
