Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Pojedynczo spotykany motyl lata od IV do pocz. VI. Gąsienice, żerujące na wierzbach, a wg innych źródeł na roślinach zielnych od V do VII obserwować można w środowiskach ciepłych, nad brzegami wód, przy drogach i miedzach. Po ostatniej lince gąsienice tracą białożółty pas boczny, który ciemnieje i odróżnia się mniej wyraźnie od reszty ciała. Zimują poczwarki pod powierzchnią ziemi.
