Prawie kosmopolityczny: Holarktyka, Afryka, Nowa Zelandia, Australia.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje na spodniej stronie liści i młodych pędach róż — Rosa alpina L., Rosa canina L., Rosa rugosa Thunb., Rosa rubiginosa L. Notowany jako wektor licznych chorób wirusowych.
